Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves working as an electronics technician on naval ship weapon systems, focusing on maintaining, repairing, and testing the MK 15 PHALANX and SeaRAM close-in weapon systems to ensure they function properly for the U.S.
Pacific Fleet. The role includes troubleshooting technical issues, providing expert guidance to teams and ship crews, and supporting repairs in Japan.
It's a good fit for someone with hands-on experience in military electronics or ship systems who enjoys problem-solving in a high-stakes environment.
You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN on the MK 15 PHALANX and SeaRAM close-in weapon system (CIWS) in the Weapons Systems Branch (Code294) of NAVAL SHIP REPAIR FACILITY JAPAN REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER.

GS-12 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating technical and engineering services on the performance, operation, maintenance, repair and testing/certification of ship systems; and conducting inspections/assessments of ship self-defense systems MK 15 Mod 21, 22-25 and 26 Block 1 Baseline 2 Close in Weapons System (CIWS) and MK 15 Mod 31-33 SeaRAM Weapon system.
GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating hands on experience on the performance, operation, maintenance, repair and testing/certification of ship systems; and conducting inspections/assessments of ship self-defense systems MK 15 Mod 21, 22-25 and 26 Block 1 Baseline 2 Close in Weapons System (CIWS).
