Supervises and assists in the performance of maintenance and preventive maintenance of electrical fire alarms, CCTV, electronic security, PA, intercom and high voltage distribution systems and equipment.
Plans electrical work including repairs to high voltage equipment and systems.
Reads blueprints and wiring diagrams and makes material take-offs.
Requisitions materials and parts needed.
Ensures completion of installation/repairs.
Make emergency repairs to electrical systems and equipment.
Performs on-the-job training for Inmates.
Participate in on-call rotation, may require overtime work.
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and experience in the construction or repair of secondary electrical systems. Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and 5 years professional experience in the construction or repair of institutional electrical systems.
