We believe that being physically present at one of these sites will enhance collaboration and ensure better overall performance in the role.What you will be doing: Under the general direction of the Education Administrator 2, the incumbent provides state-level leadership to school districts in the administration of federal and state education programs, specifically Title II-A Supporting Effective Instruction and the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education program under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).Responsibilities encompass the full scope of program administration, including reviewing, approving, and monitoring Title II-A and McKinney-Vento programs.
The incumbent manages grants from initial application approval through project review and close-out, approves budgets, and delivers technical assistance to ensure district staff understand federal grant requirements.
Responsibilities also include conducting on-site and virtual monitoring, preparing recommendations and responses, communicating findings to grantees, and ensuring accountability and program success through follow-up actions.As part of the ESEA Federal Programs team, the incumbent contributes to the development and refinement of procedures and policies by drafting and revising forms, requests for proposals, federal reports, and other administrative tools.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and four years of professional experience in education, one year of which was as a staff advisor/specialist, administrator, supervisor or consultant in planning, developing and maintaining standards and evaluating educational and vocational curricula or educational programs in a specialized field.Substitution: Appropriate graduate study may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the non-specialized experience to a maximum of two years.Special Note:Due to the duties assigned to a majority of these positions, applicants may be required to possess an Alaska Teacher Certificate at the time of employment and be required to maintain certification as a condition of employment.
