About the Position: The Military Entrance Processing Station plays a vital role in maintaining the nation's military might by ensuring that each new member of the Armed Forces: Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Space Force & Coast Guard; meets the high mental, moral & medical standards required by the DoD & the military services.
Every MEPS represents state of the art in testing, examining & processing applicants for enlistment into the Armed Forces. Position will be filled on a permanent basis.

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in a field related to the work of the position, such as Education or Teaching, of which at least 9 semester hours must have been in education courses.
OR B.
Combination of Education and Experience: At least 24 semester hours in a field related to the work of the position, such as Education or Teaching, of which at least 9 semester hours must have been in education courses, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
The experience must reflect the level and kind described in C below. OR C.
Experience: Four years of experience that demonstrated a thorough understanding of the principles and practices underlying the work of this position.
This experience must have been of such character and diversity to demonstrate that the applicant possesses an understanding of the field comparable to that normally acquired through successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university.
OR D. Teaching Experience: At least 1 full academic year of professional teaching experience.
This experience is defined as full and primary responsibility, under general supervision, for instruction of assigned students in an accredited school or institution.
This includes responsibility for preparing and presenting lessons and for evaluating students' progress, including a determination of the students' success or failure according to established criteria.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled including: Assisting with maintaining education program records; Conducting studies or projects related to an education program; Assisting students in evaluating career choices; Presenting reports on education program status and/or providing recommendations to key personnel.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Education or Teaching.
OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.
Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
