This entry-level trainee position involves learning to process applications for government benefits like food assistance, Medicaid, and emergency aid, while managing a group of cases under close supervision.
You'll conduct client interviews, analyze their financial and personal details to determine eligibility, and use department software to handle the workload.
It's a good fit for someone with customer service experience who wants to help people in need and is willing to learn complex rules in a supportive training environment.
Under close supervision, perform in a training role learning the methods of processing benefit applications.
Determine eligibility for, and manage, a caseload for economic assistance including, but not limited to SNAP, various Medicaid programs, Emergency Assistance/LIEAP, and School Clothing Vouchers.
Learn to adeptly use department software to administer to a demanding caseload. Comprehend and adhere to complex policy regarding eligibility and issuance of benefits.
Learn to conduct interviews with clients. Train how to analyze financial and social information. May obtain repayment for economic assistance issued erroneously. Perform related work as required.
