The Department of Social and Health Services' Maintenance & Operations Division is hiring for an Equipment Technician Supervisor to supervise the Transportation Department at the Special Commitment Center.
This role is responsible for ensuring transportation and logistical services across McNeil Island run safely, reliably and on schedule.
As the Equipment Technician Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations which including coordinating supply deliveries, managing office and furniture moves, and ensuring waste collection is completed across the facility.
You will also support long-term planning through budgeting, equipment purchasing and replacement scheduling.
You will supervise a team that are responsible for a wide range of duties, from transporting people to delivering supplies and coordinating essential services, your team plays a critical role in supporting operations across the island.
You will plan the work, assign routes and adjust quickly when needs change. You will guide staff, support safe practices and coordinate with maintenance and facility leadership.
You will also oversee fleet and equipment management, including repairs, preventative maintenance and coordination across multiple locations.
When issues arise, you make decisions that keep operations moving without putting safety at risk.
Please note: SCC employees also receive an additional $10 per day premium pay in addition to advertised salary and a free ORCA card for transportation use.
?Ferry transportation is provided to McNeil Island employees.
Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for anadditional5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.

Who should apply?
Must have a valid driver's license and knowledge of inspecting commercial vehicles and heavy equipment prior to use. Must be able to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within the first six months of employment.AND
At least three years* of experience as a journey-level mechanic repairing light and medium-duty vehicles, power generators, pumps, agricultural equipment or specialized marine equipment AND high school graduation / GED or equivalent.
*Trade or technical school training in appliance or related repair work may be substituted year-for-year for up to two years of the work experience.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
