DSHS FTAA Maintenance Mechanic 1
We are hiring for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our hard-working Maintenance and Operations Division (MOD) team serving Eastern State Hospital and Lakeland Village.
The Maintenance Mechanic will perform general maintenance, repair, remodeling, and construction duties utilizing working knowledge of several related skill fields such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, painting, and machinist work.
You will inspect, repair, install and maintain physical facilities, locks, and maintain and repair machinery and equipment.
Who should apply?
High school graduation or GED.
A valid state driver's license is required.
Two years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work.
Preferred knowledge, skills, & abilities:
Experience driving and operating a variety of vehicles and equipment such as trucks and vans.
Knowledge of standard practices, methods, materials, tools and equipment for mechanical trades.
Respectful and knowledgeable about safety precautions.
Be able to lift 50lbs.
Basic computer skills.
Understands the importance of record keeping.
Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, plans and sketches. Estimate materials and personnel needed to complete project.
