The mission and vision of Eastern State Hospital (ESH) has at its core the support of sustainable recovery, independence and wellness in an atmosphere where people are healthy, safe and supported.
In support and service of the approximately 375 patients and their communities, the Education Services Department provides training, staff development and education to approximately 1000 ESH employees.
The BHS3 Preceptor is a critical position in supporting the hospital’s priority focus to effectively onboard new Forensic Care Associates (FCAs) and Mental Health Technicians (MHTs).
The BHS3 Preceptor provides and/or facilitates on-ward precepting and mentoring for newly hired or promoted FCA’s and MHT’s. Under the supervision of a RN3 Staff Education Coordinator, the BH3 Preceptor facilitates the FCA/MHT in-training plan/precepting and ensures timely completion of the required elements.
