The Office of Refugee and Immigrant Assistance (ORIA) leads statewide efforts to support people arriving and resettling here, by ensuring their basic needs are met, and by providing opportunities to support their social and economic integration.

Working with more than 125 community partners across the state, ORIA oversees programs that provide housing, health care, mental health support, employment services, English classes, foster care for unaccompanied youth, help with citizenship and so much more.

As the state’s lead for refugee resettlement, ORIA ensures that services meet both immediate needs and long-term goals, helping families gain stability, opportunity, and a true sense of belonging in their new communities.

  • Represent the department in meetings with community partners and government agencies.
  • Provide feedback and technical assistance to program staff and community partners.
  • Support quality assurance by checking program data for accuracy.
  • Train new and current staff on federal and state requirements.
  • Collect and analyze program data to prepare reports for management.
  • Lead or support high-level special projects and time-sensitive assignments.

A bachelor’s degree* in business administration, public administration, law, public health, health administration, or a related field.
