Full Job Description

Position is responsible for receiving, evaluating, and dispatching emergency and non-emergency calls for the Department of Public Works (*DPW) and other related Departments.

Requirements

Answers emergency and non-emergency telephone calls and radio requests as required.

Re-transmits information received to appropriate personnel or agencies as needed.

Maintains all paper and/or computerized records as required by Central Dispatch.

Monitors United Water equipment and report problems as directed.

Maintains confidentiality of all information

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent, and one (1) year experience is preferred. Ability to effective communicate orally and in writing. Ability to learn and fluently operate a computer system, radio system and any other related equipment. Ability to read a map and have basic knowledge of City of Indianapolis geography.
