As Deputy CAO, you will share full authority with the CAO, co-piloting the agency's strategic direction.
This is a rare opportunity to lead critical functions, such as security, supply chain, and safety, and directly shape BPA's future as a high-performing organization.
This is a temporary promotion, not to exceed one (1) year, may be extended up to five (5) year's total; may be made permanent without further competition.
Upon termination of the promotion, you will be returned to your original position of record, or to a different position of equivalent grade and pay.
Temporary promotions may be terminated at any time based on the needs of management.
If you are currently employed at a grade equivalent to, or higher than the advertised position, the action will be considered a detail for processing purposes, and no salary increase will be associated with accepting the position.
Details are processed in 120-day increments and may be extended up to two (2) year's total; additional extensions may be approved at the discretion of the Human Resources Service Center Director.
Upon termination of the detail, you will be returned to your original position of record. Details may be terminated at any time based on needs of management.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Experience 1) managing a complex administrative program (e.g.
human capital management, continuity of operations, Supply Chain, etc.), to meet the strategic objectives of an organization; and 2) collaborating with senior/executive level management on the development and implementation of new or modified policies and procedures.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience.
Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations.
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Command BPA's Security & Continuity: Unify all security and resiliency functions, including physical security, emergency response, and energy restoration, into one integrated and robust office.
