This entry-level analyst role in Michigan's state government involves helping agencies set up and use an electronic system called Content Manager to organize and store their documents, both physical and digital.

About Records Management Services (RMS):RMS is the legal authority concerning records over the executive branch.
It may provide services to legislative and judicial branches as well as to local governments in regards to records management issues.
RMS provides expertise and assistance to Michigan government agencies by establishing policy, standards, procedures, and guidelines for recordkeeping.
It is also responsible for providing education and training to agencies regarding records management issues.
Additionally, RMS provides various services designed to allow government agencies to focus on their core mission instead of on records management.
Services include physical storage, media storage, confidential document destruction, document scanning, e-signature, and electronic document management.
You will be part of a talented team that designs, develops, and maintains statewide recordkeeping solutions and other records management related services.

The position has exposure to a variety of aspects of information management and governance and exposure to all areas of state government.
You would be responsible for assisting agencies with managing their records in a variety of ways.
Primarily, the position serves as a Content Manager Implementation Architect assisting agencies with the design and implementation of the Content Manager electronic document management system.
In doing so, you will analyze existing recordkeeping solutions for an agency and recommend and provide guidance in implementing strategies for migrating both physical and electronic records to Content Manager.
Responsibilities include a wide range of duties intended to ensure a positive user experience, such as incorporating usability best practices, project management, file plan design, user interface, and records management awareness, training, and user support documentation.
The position also includes duties related to system requirements and documentation, such as planning, design, development, testing, evaluation, operation, enhancement, and maintenance functions.
While this is not an IT position, you will work closely with IT support teams, providing subject matter expertise on the Content Manager system.
You will interact heavily with state agencies, frequently making presentations and leading meetings, both to small groups of a few people and to large audiences of several hundred people.
The position is also may be exposed to a variety of information governance topics.
RMS is in a constant state of investigating new tools and techniques to keep up with customer needs as well as the ever-changing field of information governance.
This could include fields like data analytics, eSignature, FOIA, legal holds, and lifecycle and records management in a variety of software tools.

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.
