Base salary range: $88,520 - $115,079

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves analyzing large, messy datasets for the Social Security Administration using tools like Python and R to create insights, build predictive models, and communicate findings to both experts and non-experts.
It requires leading teams to solve complex data problems and ensuring data processes are reliable and scalable.

Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
The specialized experience required is: (1) Providing technical expertise and direction in developing and refining studies involving large datasets comprised of messy data and statistical or machine learning analytical techniques and processes; AND (2) Transforming unprocessed, incomplete, or unstructured data into a form suitable for analysis using R, Python, SAS, or SQL; AND (3) Conducting ad hoc and planned analyses of data using statistical techniques; AND (4) Preparing talking points, issue briefs, and analytic summaries for technical and non-technical audiences.
ALL of the specialized experience is REQUIRED and must be explicitly documented/described in your resume, or you will be disqualified from further consideration.
IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS, APPLICANTS MUST ALSO MEET THE individual occupational requirement (IOR), which states that applicants must have ONE of the following: (a.) A degree in one of the following: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position.
The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. NOTE: Transcripts are required to substantiate claimed education.
OR (b.) A combination of education and experience: have completed courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours): mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
