For the GS-13, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-12 if outside the Federal service.

Specialized experience is defined as communicating time and labor processes to customers to resolve access issues and overseeing account management; submitting validated Proxy User Management requests to include processing role requests; generating time and attendance ad-hoc inquiries; handling sensitive personnel time-card submission requests; and submitting an agency's System Data Automation (SDA) files.

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement.

Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in Federal Service.

You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Major Duties:

  • Process the agency's payroll System Data Automation (SDA) files to the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) Defense Civilian Payroll System (DCPS) for all three of the agency's payroll databases.
  • Generate employee timecards at the DISA, Organization, or employee level utilizing the DAI OTL Automated Timecard Generator (ATG) process upon request.
  • Generate various complex reports and documents in support of audit requests of leave, pay, and labor hour data and prepare a variety of highly detailed reports using extensive knowledge of past and future requirements.
  • Analyze complex payroll authorization documents such as leave restoration authorization forms, payroll allotments, employee organization deductions, retroactive timecards, then ensure the appropriate entries are submitted in DCPS.
  • Provide timely customer service and completes correspondence (e.g., answers written inquiries, prepares emails and letters to obtain missing information, etc.) related to civilian pay.
