Full Job Description

The position provides subject-matter expertise on processes, policies, and systems related to the Elected Judges of the Criminal Courts, Chambers employees, and Criminal Courts employees.

The incumbent provides highly complex, advanced business process analysis, documentation, policy analysis, workflow analysis, and functional requirements gathering for the Criminal Courts, for operational needs, and for jail population issues.

Requirements

  1. Works directly with the elected judges of the Criminal Courts, Chambers employees, and Criminal Courts employees to develop strategies and solutions of a highly complex nature to maintain business processes, policies, and procedures.
  2. Monitors jail population and recommends strategies to address the populations’ effect on the efficiency of the Criminal Courts.
  3. Works with appropriate stakeholders to identify, collect, and track performance measures during and after the implementation of policy and software changes.
  4. Develops presentations regarding evidence-based data practices to varied audiences including staff, County executives, Judges, Elected Officials, and other policymakers.
  5. Participates in the implementation and functional testing of new software systems as a subject-matter expert to ensure they meet Criminal Courts’ organizational procedures.
  6. Maintains and uses a working knowledge of skills, processes, best practices, legislative initiatives, regulations, and activities related to the criminal courts.
  7. Develops and maintains a good working relationship with other County departments, other agencies, other counties, and vendors.
  8. Provides a wide variety of professional survey, research, and support to the Criminal Courts regarding a variety of Criminal Courts programs, projects, and initiatives.
  9. Develops and tracks performance indicators for use in benchmarking of Criminal Courts. Compiles data and prepares reports, studies, spreadsheets, and graphic presentations for budgeting, and strategic planning purposes.
  10. Prepares and runs reports as requested.
  11. Responds to inquiries and requests for data and information from the Elected Criminal Court Judges.
  12. Performs all other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Business Administration, Public Administration, Information Technology, or related field. A master’s degree could substitute for two (2) full-time years of required work experience.

  • Five (5) full-time years of business operations or business-related application work experience.

  • Driving may be required. Must have a valid and current Driver License.

  • Must have an expert working knowledge of business analysis and information technology best practices.

  • Knowledge of personal computers is required including Microsoft Office software and hardware.

  • Knowledge of project management tools and techniques.

  • Proficiency in organizational skills and verbal and written communication skills is required.

  • Must be able to work both independently and within a close-knit team and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
