This job involves acting as the top liaison between the U.S.
Transportation Command and the National Security Agency's cyber operations center, focusing on protecting transportation and logistics from cyber threats.
The role requires advising senior leaders on how cyber issues affect military deployments and supply chains, while planning long-term strategies to integrate cyber defense with logistics.
It's ideal for experienced professionals with deep knowledge in both cybersecurity and military transportation who can communicate effectively with high-level government officials.
This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command.
The incumbent will be responsible for serving as the direct senior representative of the US Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Commander to the National Security Agency (NSA) Central Security Services (CSS)/Directorate of Cyber Security (DCS)/Integrated Cyber Center (ICC), in the National Cybersecurity Threat Operations Center (NCTOC) Fort Meade, Maryland.
This position is mostly focused on defensive cyber operations. You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service: Developing goals and objectives that integrate organization and cyberspace operations objectives.
Advising NSA's senior experts regarding the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE).
Serving as a senior advisor on cyber impacts to the deployment and distribution coordination process.
Advising on a wide range of defensive cyberspace operations, transportation operations, logistics, planning, readiness, and transportation management program theories, concepts, and practices Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
As a CYBERSPACE LIAISON OFFICER at the GS-0301-15 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serve as the direct senior representative of the US Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Commander to the National Security Agency (NSA) Central Security Services (CSS)/Directorate of Cyber Security (DCS)/Integrated Cyber Center (ICC), in the National Cybersecurity Threat Operations Center (NCTOC) Fort Meade, Maryland.
Serves as the senior civilian representative and principle advisor to Director, NSA, Directorate of Cyber Security in the Integrated Cyber Center on USTRANSCOM transportation and JDDE needs As a recognized senior cyber expert in the logistics field, conducts intensive long-range plans, studies, and projects with applicable executive personnel across the DoD/Department of State DoS/Agencies.
Serves as senior advisor on cyber impacts to the deployment and distribution coordination process.
Represents senior officials at command conferences, workshops, and seminars to advise on USTRANSCOM current and future capabilities, objectives, and status relative to threats impacting logistics and transportation.
