About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f.

Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25.

This position is located at Fort Meade, Maryland. CYBER EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITIONS ARE NOT SUBJECT TO THE TWO-PAGE RESUME LIMIT.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by: Collecting lessons learned information from various activities such as missions and training events, ensuring to record the data appropriately; Gathering the organization's information according to lessons learned life cycle to make recommendations for improvements needed; Facilitating military exercise assessment activities or staff meetings.

This position is in the Professional category at the Full Performance level within the CES Occupational Structure Major Duties:

  • Conducts after-action analyses to identify lessons learned, leading contributions from technical and functional Subject Matter Experts
  • Documents analytical methodologies to ensure rigorous, objective identification of lessons learned, using models that resonate with leadership and yield actionable recommendations.
  • Contributes to all phases of defining and planning exercise and training programs, facilitating the identification and capture of lessons learned by colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Tracks and analyzes solutions that do not meet criteria for further action, identifying and facilitating necessary adjustments to tools or methodologies.
  • Monitors and evaluates solutions and best practices against criteria set by organizational SMEs, confirming the implementation and effectiveness of proposed solutions.
  • Combines expertise in cyberspace operations and knowledge of DoD and federal directives to advise CNMF leadership on integrating lessons learned into all operations.
  • Collaborates with J7 and other functional leads to ensure the capture, documentation, and incorporation of lessons learned into products that enable the CNMF to thrive as a learning organization.
  • Conducts after-action analyses to identify lessons learned, leading contributions from technical and functional Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
