Summary

This role involves coordinating statewide efforts to support child welfare professionals in identifying and helping families affected by human trafficking, while developing programs and providing training based on best practices.

  • Maintain child welfare certification and complete 20 hours of annual training

Job Duties:

The CWS Anti-Human Trafficking Coordinator performs coordination, oversight, and support statewide for front-line professionals working with children and families impacted by Human Trafficking.

Research relevant information to assists in human trafficking program development and best practice improvement.

Maintains understanding and knowledge of DSS Policy, Agency Mission and Guiding Principles and Standards Practice Model.


  • Provides guidance and support to staff to ensure ongoing improvement in human trafficking program area.

  • Coordinates internal case consultations to provide information on agency initiatives and goals related to human trafficking and the use of comprehensive assessments.

  • Coordinates and participates in inter-agency staffing, and advocacy meetings.

  • Serves as a Human Trafficking liaison for federal reporting on trafficking, as well as data collection.

  • Researches best practices to maintain training modules and update necessary resources for designated programmatic activities and projects.

  • Builds stakeholder relationships through state and regional human trafficking task force and follow through on procedures as required for designated projects.

  • Maintains child welfare certification. Completes 20 hours of training yearly to include certifications that are required yearly, is encouraged to attend and participate to assist with skills and development growth.

  • Maintains an active routine of self-care and pursues support when necessary to minimize the threat of secondary trauma to physical and mental health. Understands the impact of trauma on families and secondary trauma on child welfare staff and applies principles to support families and staff.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of professional experience in social services programs, correctional, education, business administration, general administrative management, or relevant program experience.

A Master’s Degree and one (1) year of professional experience in social services programs, correctional, education, business administration, general administrative management, or relevant program experience.

Qualifications

Project management experience highly desired.
