This job involves working in a call center for South Carolina's Department of Social Services, where you'll answer calls from people seeking help with food assistance (SNAP) and financial aid (TANF) programs, handle complaints, document cases, and track issues to improve services.
It's a customer service role focused on supporting families and vulnerable adults by connecting them to the right resources.

Answers constituent calls regarding SNAP and TANF benefits in a centralized inbound call center environment and escalates constituent complaints regarding benefit delivery to the appropriate Economic Services Center for review and resolution within the required time frame and in accordance with federal legislation, state laws and regulations, and Agency policy and procedures.
Disseminates SNAP/TANF reported changes to the Economic Services Center.
Ensures proper documentation of all cases and case actions taken, as well as disseminating client communications/notices via the agency CHIP and/or SCOSA systems.
Communicates with State and County DSS staff, to facilitate appropriate action regarding information reported through the constituent call process.
A High School Diploma and four (4) years of clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration, or general business experience.
An Associate's Degree and two (2) years of clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration, or general business experience.
