This job involves handling property tax records for the city, including answering questions from the public and agencies, processing payments and claims, and searching for tax information to support various permits and services.
It's a customer-facing role in a government office that helps people with tax-related issues, with seasonal busier periods for payments.
A good fit would be someone detail-oriented with clerical experience who enjoys interacting with the public and has basic office skills.
Under limited supervision, performs work of moderate difficulty in the reviewing, processing, recording and maintenance of property tax records. (Uses 10-key adding machine, fax machine, copier, mainframe terminal, fiche reader and computer)
Spanish language proficiency preferred but not required.

The Marion County Treasurer's Office bills, collects, invests, and distributes property taxes and provides financial analysis related to these functions.

Alcoholic beverage permits, mobile homes moving and/ or titling permits, permits for license from City Controller)Searches for delinquent taxes for employees of all political subdivisions (libraries, state, schools)Searches for Sheriff Sale of delinquent property taxesAssists the public with tax related issuesPerform other duties as assigned Qualifications Requires a High School Diploma and two years of clerical experience maintaining real estate property tax records.
