This job involves keeping lodging facilities at a military base clean and well-maintained through tasks like sweeping, mopping, polishing, and handling waste, often using heavy equipment and ladders.

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Lodging facility of the 6th Force Support Squadron Sustainment Flight MacDill AFB, FL.
This position requires moderate to heavy physical exertion. Heavy lifting (up to 40+ lbs), pushing carts (100+ lbs), and using heavy cleaning equipment required.
Includes ladder/scaffolding work and frequent bending, lifting, stooping. Pre-employment physical required. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience: Must know the proper uses of a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions and how to remove different kinds of stains from a wide variety of surfaces.
Must be able to clean and make adjustments to power cleaning equipment. Major Duties:
Maintains the cleanliness of lodging facilities to established standards.
Performs cleaning tasks, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors utilizing industrial power equipment.
Operates and maintains power equipment, including adjusting and changing attachments. Dusts, waxes, and polishes furniture, ledges, and woodwork. Empties waste receptacles and polishes metal fixtures.
Cleans interior and exterior windows and glass partitions, utilizing stepladders and extension ladders as needed.
Cleans mirrors and water fountains, and replenishes supplies such as deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, and soap.
Reports maintenance issues, including water leaks and clogged drains, to the supervisor.
Monitors and maintains cleaning supply inventory, notifying the supervisor of needed reorders or equipment repairs/replacements.
Performs seasonal tasks, including applying ice control, snow removal, litter pickup, mowing, and lawn watering.
