Requirements

In this position, you will perform basic cleaning duties throughout the facility. Your work will involve performing deep cleaning procedures of resident rooms, offices, and public areas.

General cleaning duties will include mopping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing, dusting, sweeping, and buffing of floors, elevators, bathroom fixtures, and other items in the facility.

You will also be responsible for emptying waste containers, disposing of trash and recyclables, and restocking supplies.

Some of your duties will also include delivering supplies, moving furniture and equipment, and sanitizing bathrooms.

Additionally, you will maintain a safe working environment and report all problems and unsafe conditions to supervisor, as well as assist with snow removal.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, alternating weekends and holidays, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Willingness to work in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania
  • Willingness to work a 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM shift
  • Work experience as a custodian, janitor, or cleaning person (experience might include such things as cleaning restrooms; cleaning resident rooms, offices, or public areas; mopping, scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, and buffing)
  • Work experience interacting with patients or residents while cleaning in patient or resident rooms or a dining room setting
  • Work experience with cleaning bodily fluids and disposing infectious waste into proper storage areas

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
