Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as a counterintelligence officer for the Navy's criminal investigative service, where you'll help create plans to counter foreign spies, analyze threats, and train others to protect sensitive information.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a COUNTERINTELLIGENCE OFFICER in the NAVAL CRIMINIAL INVESTIGATIVE SERVICE. All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service.

This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. This job opportunity announcement has a first cut-off of 50 applicants.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting in the development of strategic plans and objectives.

Contributing to the creation and implementation of Counterintelligence (CI) policy. Conducting CI data analysis and reporting.

Developing or conducting training designed to mitigate foreign intelligence threats, enhance national security, and integrate Combatant Command (COCOM), Joint Staff, and Department of the Navy (DON) sensitive CI requirements and capabilities.

  • You will assist the supervisor in developing strategic plans and objectives to implement creative and innovative operational concepts to CI operations and investigations which mitigate foreign intelligence threats and enhance national security.
  • You will assist in developing and implementing CI policies, procedures, and guidelines that support DON CI objectives.
  • You will collect, analyze, and interpret complex data from multiple sources on foreign intelligence threats; assesses and manages associated risks.
  • You will develop and deliver CI training and education programs to ensure personnel are aware of foreign intelligence threats and equipped with the skills to protect sensitive information
