About the Position: Serves as Counter Transnational Organized Crime (CD/CTOC) Operations Support Officer in the Operations Directorate (J3). Defeat Threats Division (J32), CD/CTOC Branch (J36).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience providing oversight of concept development, planning, execution, and assessment of joint and interagency operations in support of United States and Partner Nation (PN) law enforcement agencies' (LEA) efforts to counter illicit trafficking (CIT); reviewing and making recommendations for improvements to Counter Drug/Counter Transnational Organized Crime (CD/CTOC) plans and orders; ensuring compliance with all applicable Department of Defense (DoD) directives of deployed forces in support of CD/CTOC operations; preparing directorate summaries and information papers for leadership; and participating in development and control of the operating budget.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

Major Duties:

  • Coordinate with components, subordinate joint and joint interagency task forces, and United States Country Teams to develop operational resource requirements to achieve command objectives for the interdiction and disruption of illicit trafficking.
  • Provide oversight and support to regional air sovereignty operations and programs within the Area of Responsibility and the Host Nation Rider Escort (HNRE) program.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD directives governing the planned deployment of forces in support of Counter Drug/Counter Transnational Organized Crime operations to include review/validation of Deployment Orders, Planning Orders, and Execution Orders.
  • Develop new methods and procedures in order to solve difficult and complex problems and assignments, and make decisions that develop and establish Counter Drug/Counter Transnational Organized Crime (CD/CTOC) operations.
  • Prepare directorate summaries and information papers for the Combatant Commander, Military Deputy Commander, and the Director of Operations.
  • Prepare the operating budget for leadership approval using general budget guidance memorandums, branch input, and historical data.
