Requirements

As a Corrections Stock Clerk, you will oversee inmate workers while maintaining, receiving, and distributing inventory within the warehouse and commissary area at SCI Mercer. This will include:


  • Instructing inmates in the standard principles and practices of storeroom operations
  • Inspecting materials and matching packing slips with purchase orders
  • Ensuring products are safely unloaded and distributed
  • Submitting requisitions for inventory replenishment
  • Preparing routine reports and monitoring completion of work assignments
  • Operating motor vehicles, fork lifts, or hand trucks to move oversized or heavy items, remove scrap materials, and make deliveries

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of stockroom, warehouse, retail sales, or clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Special Requirements:

  • You must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.


Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
