Requirements

As a Corrections General Industries Factory Foreperson, you will oversee inmate workers in the manufacturing, production, or processing of products or services within SCI Phoenix West Correctional Industries Regional Laundry Plant. You will train and supervise inmates in the industry's practices, methods, and procedures while providing demonstrations, explanations, and close supervision. It will be your responsibility to plan, assign, review, and evaluate the work of assigned inmates and maintain training progress reports, wage reports, and attendance records. Additionally, you will ensure that production meets established standards of quality and quantity through regular inspections of equipment, raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods. You will also be responsible for the maintenance and repair of factory equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in the production of goods or services; or
  • An associate degree in industrial technology, operations management, business administration, or a related field; and one year of work experience in the production of goods or services; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of work experience in the production of goods or services.


Other Requirements:
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
