Summary

This job involves leading maintenance and construction projects for Pennsylvania's prison facilities, where you'll coordinate planning, inspect work, manage budgets, and act as a go-between for staff, contractors, and government agencies.

Requirements

In this position, you will function as a facility maintenance and construction consultant by providing technical and administrative assistance during construction and renovation projects.

Your work will include coordinating the planning, design, and construction processes amongst project stakeholders.

You will also attend conferences and meetings, inspect site work, and monitor project schedules and budgets.

Some of your duties will include participating in preliminary planning, developing budgetary estimates, coordinating resources, and performing inspections.

This will often include traveling to facilities to determine the completeness and conformance of the project to contract documents and verifying work adheres to construction standards.

Additionally, you will serve as liaison between facility maintenance managers, institutional executive staff, the Department of General Services, and other contractors or interested parties.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Work Location: 1920 Technology Parkway in Mechanicsburg, PA. Consideration will be given to an alternative SCI location if requested and available.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Facility Maintenance Manager 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years as a Facility Maintenance Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience as a Utilities Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Seven years of experience in the construction, maintenance or repair of buildings; or the operation, maintenance and repair of utility services equipment, including four years in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
