Base salary range: $74,441 - $96,770

This job involves advising on government purchases for naval aircraft projects, from planning what to buy and negotiating deals to managing contracts after they're signed.
You'll help ensure fair prices and smooth execution of projects at a naval center in New Jersey.
It's a good fit for someone with experience in procurement or contracts, especially in defense or government settings, who enjoys detailed analysis and problem-solving.
You will serve as a CONTRACT SPECIALIST in the NAVAL AIR WARFARE CENTER AIRCRAFT DIV of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Serves as a key advisor to technical customers, providing guidance on acquisition methods and assisting in the development of acquisition plans, statements of work, source selection criteria/plans, and justifications.
Constructs the contractual vehicle by defining procurement objectives and incorporating unique pricing and subcontracting strategies and set-aside considerations.
Performs detailed cost/price analysis to ensure fairness and reasonableness, establishes the competitive range, as necessary, and serves as the lead negotiator representing the Government in all contractual actions before awarding the final contract.
Manages all post-award administration to include preparing rate and cost adjustments, redirecting contract efforts, issuing modifications, enforcing terms through actions like cure notices and stop-work orders, exercising options, managing incremental funding, , monitoring Government Property, and executing contract closeout.
