Job Description

Summary

This job involves patrolling and securing city parks in Cape Coral, Florida, by checking facilities, preventing vandalism, handling emergencies, and preparing reports.

It also includes issuing violation notices and performing cleanup tasks as needed.

  • Willingness to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and perform emergency cleaning

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for securing all city park locations, checking/monitoring facilities and filling out reports.
  • This includes securing buildings and vehicles, maintaining security of grounds to prevent trespass and vandalism and interacting with local police and fire/rescue to remedy any problems that may arise.
  • Included is the preparation of various documents and reports and issuing ordinance violations.
  • Emergency cleaning of parks as required.
  • May be required to operate a motor vehicle in performance of assigned tasks.
  • Performs other duties assigned by Supervisor.
Individuals assigned to this classification must report to work per their assigned schedule. Parks and Recreation staff must be willing to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license upon hire and obtain a valid Florida driver’s license within thirty (30) days of hire or promotion.
  • First Aid and CPR certification required within thirty (30) days of hire.
  • Previous experience in environmental science; recreation or tourism management; public safety and security; forestry, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of City facilities, codes, rules and regulations preferred.
