About the Position: Serves as a technician performing a variety of duties, not requiring professional legal competence in support of the U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM).

Works under the supervision of the Commander for technical guidance concerning the completion of legal documents/packets. This is a permanent position.

Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which include: operating established systems to prepare personnel actions (i.e, rewards, evaluations); maintaining administrative files or correspondence to ensure accurate recordkeeping; utilizing automated systems to compose various legal correspondence or reports; and proofreading documents to correct errors (i.e., spelling, punctuation, formatting).

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

If you are a current Federal employee, you must include your pay plan, series and grade in your work experience(s) on your resume submission and/or upload supporting documentation (within-grade increase SF50) to show that you meet the time-in-grade requirement.

In addition, if your step reflects '00', you must include your current salary for each position. Major Duties:

  • Review outgoing correspondence for compliance with Army Correspondence standards and applicable regulations.
