This position is in the Office of the Administrator (AO), Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations, Congressional Affairs Division, Air, Land, and Cross-Cutting Programs Branch.
About AO This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis.
NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for the GS-12 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level defined as scheduling briefings; coordinating with program staff and managers to prepare responses to letters and/or inquiries; and coordinating communications with staff to provide information on EPA activities.
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level defined as coordinating briefings or preparation sessions related to Congressional procedures, inquiries, or actions; reviewing or making recommendations on responses to Congressional correspondence; and coordinating with officials or organizations on legislative activities and/or environmental programs.

You will: Establish strong working relationships with program staff to stay current and/or improve upon their knowledge and understanding of Agency programs.
Coordinate with programs to develop responses to Congressional inquiries to ensure office meet the Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations (OCIR) deadlines.
Coordinate, track, and review program office draft responses to ensure that drafts address all issues raised in original correspondence and that they meet the Agency's high standard of quality necessary for corresponding with Members of Congress.
Monitor ongoing activities within the program office and develop draft Congressional notification plans to highlight Agency activities.
