Full Job Description

  • Provides leadership, oversight and execution of all internal and external communications and marketing to ensure clear, accurate, consistent and timely messaging that advances BHDDD’s mission, strengthens public trust and supports policy, programmatic and emergency response goals.
  • Serves as BHDD’s primary spokesperson and oversee media relations, including press releases, media inquiries, interviews and press conferences.
  • Plans, directs and oversees integrated marketing and outreach initiatives including community engagement efforts, public education campaigns, legislative initiatives, paid media and partnerships to promote BHDD programs, services and priorities.
  • Responsible for the development of the agency’s communication, marketing, branding and outreach initiatives.
  • Directs and manages a professional communications staff responsible for executing BHDD’s communication, marketing, branding and outreach strategies.
  • Develops, manages and maintains the BHDD brand and identity and ensure consistent and appropriate brand utilization.
  • Leads communications during health-related emergencies, crises and high-profile sensitive situations, coordinating closely with BHDD leadership and program experts.
  • Oversees digital communications, including the BHDD website, social media platforms, email campaigns and emerging communication channels.
  • Prepares performance planning and evaluation documents and related personnel paperwork. Coaches, counsels and trains employees. Establishes and monitors work processes and outcomes.
  • Designs and oversees internal communications to inform, engage and align BHDD employees across offices, programs and locations.
  • Oversees development of written, visual and multimedia content ensuring accuracy, clarity, accessibility and compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Develops, implements and oversees a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with agency goals, brand standards and compliance with state and federal policies, and supports agency priorities, communications objectives and key messaging across all platforms.


Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related field and five (5) years of experience in communications, public relations or related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted for educational requirement.
