The Riverside University Health System - Medical Center is currently recruiting for Per Diem Clinical Laboratory Scientists with the Clinical Laboratory. This posting will serve to fill Per Diem Clinical Laboratory Scientist vacancies in Moreno Valley.
We are looking for:
Every other weekend commitment, and other days as needed
Shifts 8 hours: 7:00am-3:30pm, 3:00pm-11:30pm, 11:00pm-7:30am
A valid California Department of Public Health (CDPH) - Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License is required.
Depending on experience, Per Diem Clinical Laboratory Scientists perform a variety of assignments involving the examination and testing of specimens in the medical laboratory. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience working as a generalist in an acute hospital clinical laboratory.
CLS Generalists and CLS' with specialty experience including Virology, Microbiology, RNA extraction, PCR testing, Blood bank and LIS are encouraged to apply.
Additional shift differentials may be available.

Requirements
• Performs general clinical laboratory wok such as hematological, serological, chemical, bacteriological, and parasitological tests using standardized procedures to determine incidence of disease or abnormal conditions.
• Groups, types, can cross matches blood and determines antibodies and blood count.
• Performs qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses of blood, urine, and other body fluids.
• Operates manual and automated laboratory equipment; prepares culture media, stains, and reagents.
• Stocks solutions; analyzes and interpret laboratory data; maintains records and makes reports.
Qualifications
Knowledge of: Principles, techniques, equipment, and terminology necessary for laboratory diagnosis of diseases and abnormal condition knowledge of common disease causes; Methods of transmission and control of communicable diseases; Proper laboratory safety procedures.
Ability to: Operate technical laboratory equipment; Skillfully perform standardized laboratory tests; Maintain technical records and prepare reports; Establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees.

License/Certificate: Possession of a valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist License issued by the State of California Department of Health Services
