Advertised Job Summary

The Department of Exercise Science at the https://sc.edu/ (USC ) is inviting applications for a clinical faculty position (non-tenure track) in our https://www.sc.edu/study/colleges_schools/public_health/study/areas_of_study/physical_therapy/index.php (DPT ) with an anticipated start date of August 16, 2026 at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor.
The successful candidate will teach courses in neurologic physical therapy, orthopedic physical therapy, musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology, or other courses within area of expertise, advise DPT students, supervise DPT student projects, participate in service to the program and community, and engage in scholarship. The position is a 12-month position with rank and salary commensurate with experience and expertise.
The http://www.sph.sc.edu/dpt is a fully accredited entry-level program that is housed within the nationally recognized http://www.sph.sc.edu/exsc in the http://www.sph.sc.edu. The small class size of 30 DPT students allows clinical faculty to creatively use a wide variety of learning approaches while also allowing substantial time for scholarly activity.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

All candidates must have the following:

• A degree in physical therapy (e.g., BS, MPT , or DPT ). If BS or MS, must also have a terminal academic doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, DHSc) by the start date of employment.
• Current PT licensure in any United States jurisdiction and eligible for licensure in South Carolina.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a physical therapist by the start date of employment.

Requirements by rank:

• Candidates to be considered at the rank of Clinical Associate Professor must have a strong record of teaching and scholarship, with at least 5 years of experience as an effective instructor, student mentor, and researcher in addition to the requirements of Clinical Assistant Professor rank by the beginning date of employment.
• Candidates to be considered at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor must have strong potential to teach courses in neurologic physical therapy, orthopedic physical therapy, musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology, or other courses within area of expertise, advise DPT students, supervise DPT student projects, participate in service to the program and community, and engage in scholarship.
