Job Description
Summary
This role involves leading a public health clinic by managing daily operations, overseeing staff, and delivering nursing care like assessments and immunizations to clients.
It also includes tasks such as ordering supplies, conducting employee evaluations, and promoting health services to attract more clients.
A good fit would be an experienced registered nurse with leadership skills who enjoys working in a team environment and handling both administrative and hands-on patient care in a community health setting.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) plus 2 years of public health and/or supervisory experience, or Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) plus 4 years of such experience
- Current Texas RN license (or multistate compact including Texas; Texas license required within 90 days of hire)
- Current and valid driver's license with good driving record
- Knowledge of physical assessment and immunization skills
- Knowledge of clinical and medical equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to perform simple math calculations and demonstrate manual dexterity for immunizations and child restraint
Full Job Description
Coordinate the direct clinic function which includes directing clinic flow, clarification of policies and procedures. Communicate with staff, clients, and supervisors. Maintain nurse caseloads, attendance records, evaluations and supervisors; order clinic supplies. Perform physical assessments and provide immunizations. Act as a resource person for the staff. Direct marketing/education efforts for client recruitment.

Requirements
- Provides clinic services.
- Monitors clinic flow.
- Performs reporting and documentations.
- Makes referrals as needed.
- Assists with grant writing if needed.
- Performs evaluation on employees.
- Monitors day-to-day operations.
- Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the Public Health Department as assigned or required.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) and two (2) years of public health and/or supervisory experience.Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) and four (4) years of public health and/or supervisory experience.
