Summary

This job is for a receptionist and administrative support role at a county office that helps protect children and support families by handling abuse and neglect cases.

We are currently looking for a Clerk Typist 2 to fill in as our receptionist and carry out daily operations. Requirements

As a Clerk Typist 2, you will serve as an agency receptionist carrying out daily operations for OCYS.

This position involves using effective and efficient communication while interacting with the community.

You will be responsible for answering the main agency phone line, transferring calls, composing emails, routing faxes and monitoring voice mails that come in.

All incoming mail will be sorted, stamped and prepared for distribution through this position.

Additionally, you will compose a daily schedule for the agency, ensuring the accuracy of daily operations and assignments from various calendars. Additional duties include:

  • Receives, documents, updates, and distributes on-call staff assignments and Bus Pass requests

  • Announces Pre-Placement Meetings in a timely fashion

  • Contacts Language Line for bilingual calls as needed

  • Works with the Clerical Unit team members, promoting seamless coverage of the reception desk.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; or
  • Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; or
  • Any combination of equivalent experience and training.


Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
