Requirements

As a Clerical Supervisor 2, you will be overseeing daily operations of a claims administration clerical unit, including hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating staff performing complex clerical functions.

Work involves planning, prioritizing, and assigning work to ensure efficient workflow, high-quality output, and timely completion of tasks.

You will have the opportunity to support leadership as needed and ensure timely completion of all clerical and claims support functions.

You will also be tasked with providing comprehensive training and ongoing guidance to staff, addressing personnel matters, managing leave requests, and conducting performance reviews.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring continuity of operations by assisting with workload during staffing shortages
  • Supervising key functions such as claim file management, incoming communications, and document processing withing the claims system
  • Monitoring accuracy and compliance through periodic file reviews and quality control measures
  • Coordinating records management activities
  • Serving as the primary liaison with the State Records Center to track, retrieve, and maintain claim files
  • Maintaining accurate data within systems and supporting records retention processes
  • Overseeing claims-related administrative tasks including form/template management, tracking and reporting, data entry, and maintenance of internal databases and spreadsheets

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report in-office 2 days per week.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Supervisor 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 3 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
  • Two years of as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
