The Bureau of Motor Vehicles is currently seeking to fill the position of Clerical Assistant 3 within the Commercial Registration Fleet Unit.

This role is pivotal in delivering exceptional customer service while managing the examination and processing of titles and registrations for a diverse array of commercial motor vehicles.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all documentation is accurately reviewed and processed in a timely manner, facilitating smooth operations within the unit.

This position not only requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail but also the ability to effectively communicate with customers to address their inquiries and resolve any issues related to vehicle registration.

As part of a dynamic team, the Clerical Assistant 3 will play a crucial role in supporting the overall mission of the Bureau, contributing to the efficient management of commercial vehicle registrations and enhancing the experience for all stakeholders involved.

Requirements

In this position, you will be responsible for processing requests related to vehicle titles and registrations. Your duties will include reviewing applications and addressing inquiries concerning various motor vehicle transactions, such as the titling of trucks, tractors, and charter buses, as well as managing the suspension or restoration of records, issuing registrations, and fulfilling requests for duplicate credentials. You will also assess the appropriate classification of vehicles, determine sales tax obligations, and authorize the issuance of restricted plates. Additionally, you will create and maintain accounts for Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) while responding to customer inquiries through various channels, including mail, telephone, in-person interactions, and electronic communications. A critical aspect of your role will involve validating proof of residency documents for new accounts and any address changes, as well as monitoring, reviewing, and facilitating transactions within the CMV Online Web Processing Queue.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
