Requirements

The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position will provide clerical and office support to the Bureau of Watershed Restoration and Nonpoint Source Management. Specific duties include managing the Bureau Directors calendar by scheduling meetings, arranging travel, and preparing meeting materials and briefings. Prepares and compiles reports, briefings, and presentations for executive offices and county partners. Maintains databases and spreadsheets; ensures data accuracy and compliance with DEP standards. This position will serve as lead timekeeper and will processes timesheets, leave, overtime, comp time, and travel reimbursements, as well as train staff on using Cross Application Time Sheets (CATS). Additionally you will support the procurement processes by verifying pricing, submitting requests, and tracking deliveries and invoices. Screens calls, manages mail, and promotes the Department’s mission through professional service and communication.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week, 8:00am to 4:00pm with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
