This job is for a clerical assistant in the Pennsylvania State Police's liquor control enforcement office in Harrisburg, where you'll handle tasks like answering phones, greeting visitors, managing equipment and uniform inventories, ordering supplies, and keeping records up to date to keep operations running smoothly.

The Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a Clerical Assistant 2 to provide clerical support and ensure the efficient operation of the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement in the Harrisburg District Office.

Requirements

This position is assigned to the staff of the Director, Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, and provides clerical support to the Bureau Director; Director, Administration Division; and the Director, Operations Division, in order to ensure the smooth and effective flow of work between Department/Bureau Headquarters and the District Enforcement Offices. The Clerical Assistant 2 will answer telephones and greets visitors, assist with maintaining the Bureaus equipment inventory, as well as uniform inventory. In addition, this position will order supplies for Bureau Headquarters Report Examination Unit and Harrisburg District Office, and ensures proper maintenance of inventory is current.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:15am to 4:15pm, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • One (1) year or more of experience using Microsoft Word., Excel, and Quickbooks.
  • One (1) year or more of experience working with financial documents and balancing checkbooks.
  • One (1) year or more of experience working with databases, spreadsheets, and logs.
  • One (1) year or more of experience working in a position that requires maintaining, updating, and purging files.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
