The Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a Clerical Assistant 2 who will provide clerical support and ensure the efficient operation of the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement in the Allentown District Office.

Requirements

In this position, the Clerical Assistant 2 will generate Computer Aided Dispatch numbers (CAD) from the Records Management System (RMS); enter complaints into the Incident Tracking System (ITS); enters violation and warning letter dates into the ITS; and separates investigative reports. Obtains files for supervisors that are needed for complaints, etc. Enters Citations and Adjudications into the ITS and creates Public Information Release Reports as required. This position will perform the duties of primary timekeeper and ensures all leave is recorded accurately and timely. Performs the duties of primary travel arranger; while ensuring that all travel documentation is recorded accurately and timely.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements (NSRs):
  • All employees must obtain active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job.

Additional Requirements:
  • Three (3) years or more of experience using Microsoft Word.
  • Three (3) years or more of experience maintaining databases, spreadsheets, and logs.
  • Three (3) years or more of experience preparing and formatting various correspondence, forms, and reports.
  • Three (3) years or more of experience proofreading and editing various types of materials to ensure grammatical correctness and completeness.
  • Three (3) years or more of experience working in a position that requires maintaining, updating, and purging files.
  • Two (2) years or more of experience answering and assisting with incoming telephone calls.
  • Two (2) years or more of experience utilizing various office equipment such as a personal computer, copying machine, facsimile machine, and postage meter.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
