Requirements

As a Clerical Assistant 2 you will provide clerical and office support to your assigned institution. Responsibilities include ensuring all misconducts, informal reports, and appeals are accurately accounted for and entered. You will also complete daily entries on the Central Office WEBTas System in accordance with misconduct charges received. Additional duties include answering and directing incoming phone calls, receiving and directing visitors, and processing incoming and outgoing mail.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • Must understand how to efficiently use and navigate a personal computer.
  • Must have two (2) years or more of experience with the Microsoft systems (Word/Excel/Outlook, etc.) and other software packages to create and maintain spreadsheets/calendars/documents/rosters etc.
  • Must have the ability to work with various office equipment such as: scanner, printer, fax machine, computer, tablet, telephone, personal communication devices etc.
  • Must have the ability to use electronic communication tools/skills, such as video conferencing, and creating meetings in Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
  • Must be proficient in keyboarding skills.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Must be able to stand and operate document scanning machines.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
