Requirements

This position is assigned to the Activities and Volunteer Departments and will provide clerical support in the Southeastern Veterans Center. You will be responsible to collect bills from vendors and facilitate payment with the Accounting Department, schedule the Volunteer orientation programs to include scheduling new recruits for the resident programs, as well as type and prepare oral and/or written reports and documents and make hotel and travel arrangements as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
    • Evenings and weekends as needed
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Previous clerical experience.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Previous experience typing, data entry, filing, shredding, answering and screening calls, creating work orders, maintaining policy manuals, proofreading, and filing.

Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will requires a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
