Full Job Description

The Department of Labor and Industry has an excellent opportunity for a Clerical Assistant 2 within the UC Board of Review (UCBR) Central Office.

The successful candidate in this position will process both first-level and second-level UC appeals.

These appeals are filed from determinations by UC service centers or from decisions by UC referees.If you are energetic, efficient, and detail oriented, this may be a great opportunity for you.

Requirements

The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position adjudicates second-level appeals and inputs initial tracking entries for first-level appeals. You will be responsible to maintain required files, process required paper work, enter required PC data for cases, and handle correspondence and mail. Prepares and types UC46A Further Appeal document, copies documents, updates mainframe, and mails appeals to appropriate parties as required.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Work hours are negotiable.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week, upon successful completion of the training period.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
