What You Will Be Doing

Primary administrator and adjudicator for General Liability and Property loss claims and is oversight supervisor for Tort claims handled by the Assistant Attorney’s General (AAG) working in the Department of Law.

Communicates with potential claimants, state agencies, and insurers for the purpose of resolving claims..

Uses investigative skills and knowledge to complete liability investigations, evaluates settlement values and negotiates claims resolution.

Knowledge of the Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Act, Alaska Statutes, and general investigative and claims handling skills will allow you success in this role.

Works independently under the supervision of the Risk Manager.

Our Anchorage office is located on the 12h floor of the Atwood Building at 550 West 7th Avenue with unbeatable views of the Chugach Range, the Cook Inlet and Mount Susitna. The Atwood Building is on the West side of downtown Anchorage close to some of the best restaurants Anchorage has to offer.

Our Juneau office is located on the 10th floor of the State Office Building in the historic state capital.

Our small, friendly, supportive staff of six fosters a respectful, fun and productive work environment.

Any combination of post-secondary education and/or professional experience in claims or loss adjustment, medical claims, vocational rehabilitation, workers' compensation, property loss claims, or similar experience that included making decisions to interpret, apply, accept, or deny claims such as property/casualty, liability, workers' compensation, and/or medical claims or appeals.

Special Note:
