About the Position: Serves as a Civilian Payroll Technician supporting a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) at Ireland Army Medical Center, Fort Knox, KY.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting customers with pay inquiries, utilizing an automated payroll software system and resolving pay issues.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Major Duties:

  • Serve as the local Customer Service Representative for various civilian pay-related matters.
  • Review, verify, and process a variety of payroll and time and attendance data.
  • Receive and analyze problems relating to automated pay applications.
  • Provide initial and refresher time and attendance training to customers.
  • Maintain pay and leave files for routine and non-routine actions.
  • Serve as a point of contact for in and out-processing of civilian employees.
