This job involves leading a team that reviews and approves permits for water-related construction projects in Pennsylvania, ensuring they meet safety and environmental standards.
As the manager, you'll supervise engineers and biologists, guide permitting decisions, and work on improving processes to protect communities and waterways.
It's ideal for an experienced civil engineer with strong leadership skills who wants to influence environmental policy and team development in a government setting.

As the Civil Engineer Manager, you will provide direct supervision to a technical staff comprised of three engineers, one aquatic biologist supervisor, and six aquatic biologists.
You will prioritize and delegate work to ensure proper completion in accordance with established priorities and current legislation, primarily involving permitting.
Excellent leadership skills are vital, as you will facilitate various meetings; provide technical guidance to staff regarding the application of applicable laws, rules, and regulations; as well as provide detailed training plans for employees to enhance comprehension.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
