Job Description

Summary

This role leads the Office of Public Guardian in Stanislaus County, overseeing support and protection for vulnerable adults who can't manage their own affairs due to mental health or other issues.

It involves managing a team, handling conservatorships, financial oversight, and coordinating with courts and health services.

A good fit would be an experienced manager with a background in social services, law, or behavioral health who is compassionate, organized, and skilled in leadership.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, public administration, law, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in public guardianship, conservatorship, or adult protective services
  • 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Knowledge of California probate law, mental health regulations, and conservatorship procedures
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for working with clients, families, and stakeholders
  • Valid California driver's license and ability to pass background checks
