Full Job Description

This position is located in the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department, Food & Beverage Service Division, Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida.

Primarily, the incumbent of this position is responsible for performing cashier/checker duties in any annex of any club as assigned.

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered.

Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required or 3 months of general experience as a cashier in lieu of education.

Previous experience as a cashier desired.

Incumbent must have a pleasing personality, poise, the ability to tactfully/adroitly meet, greet, serve all types of customers and the ability to resolve embarrassing/upsetting situations.

Must present a neat, clean, and presentable appearance You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Major Duties:

Checks patron's credentials to ensure they are valid customers. Visually checks items to ensure correct charge for item.

Completes proper sales documents required for the type of purchase; i.e., credit card, cash, check, etc. Rings up sales on a cash register, accepts payment and makes change.

Bags or boxes items for take-out where applicable.

May be required to provide management with information concerning customer request, complaints, price problems, condition of merchandise, time of maximum and minimum patron traffic and fast or slow moving items.

Assists in taking inventory, restocking shelves and such other duties as required by the supervisor. Performs other duties assigned.
