Full Job Description


* Assisting the Food Service Supervisor in supervising Inmates assigned to the Cafeteria.* Assisting as needed in the Supervision of unloading and inspecting Cafeteria delivery trucks.

* Supervising Inmate assigned to the outside areas of the Cafeteria and ensuring proper procedures are adhered to. * Supervising Inmates in the Dining Area during mealtimes.

* Maintaining Security, Custody and Control. * Performing random frisk searches of Inmates that enter and exit the Cafeteria. * All other duties as assigned in accordance with the Post Orders.

Requirements

SCDC Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • 18 years of age or older
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Tattoos: Must not be offensive and/or gang related or visibly located on the face or head. Tattoos on the neck will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
  • Cannot have been convicted of a crime with a maximum allowable sentence of one year or more, or a fine of $1,000.
  • Must pass a physical examination administered by SCDC.
  • Must successfully complete the Correctional Officer Basic Certification Course within first (6) six months of placement into the position.
